Delhi Assembly Hung assembly - Dividend verdict How to use it best for Citizen
Recent election results of Delhi cheered me a lot and I am glad that anti corruption movement experiment is successful. I was so delighted that i watched every tweets during election results time. This is not only the win for AAP party but also for honest people of India and their dream of bringing the change to political arena.
Looking at the post election scenario and the stand taken by party need to looked in to from other perspective too. India is a pluralistic society and there will always be differences of opinion among people and different parties too. If one believe that they can work only when they have absolute majority seems unrealistic in current political equations. What is AAP want to bring the law which need other party support too. Assume elections are held again and people voted a hung assembly again. Does that mean we should we keep on having election one party or AAP gets the majority. Hung assembly have a meaning, it means to me that all people of Delhi are not believing in one party to take the control. This is not a game where we can easily say, let is play one more time. Every election cost money, time and energy of people involved, which should be considered too in decision making.
- APP will deal only with party with no tainted MLA, if there is any tainted member remove that MLA before coming to table.
- Take the outside support pass the Lokpal bill and go for election again after that.
- Pass few key agenda related to corruption and go for election.
In brief use this situation for the benefit of people rather then for a party. Gandhi ji said "Paap se ghrana karo paapi se nahi" (Hate the crime and not the criminal).
I think this a golden opportunity for AAP which it should not let go waste. It should participate in government formation and get some major reforms passed. This will build more trust with the people. I do not think there is any issue in joining hands with another political party if they agree to a CMP.
ReplyDeleteTrue that the election results reflect the fact the middle-class Indian populace are desperate for a change from the choices of either corrupt Congress or non-secular BJP. But what worries me is that we have seen this same situations play out in TamilNadu elections (VijayKanth) but later seen those parties make compromises for their own survival. I sincerely hope that a grass roots org like AAP stay true to its core values and bring a true change.
